So it’s Red Ribbon Week at the kiddo’s school and each day had a theme for the kids to participate in, today was dress up as a character from a book or career person. Michael asked me if it was okay for him to wear his Captain America costume to school (without the mask cuz those weren’t allowed), I told him of course because technically that character IS in books which tell stories plus he’s been around since 1941 so people know he’s a story character lol. Haley decided to go the career path and threw her apron on and went as a Baker, she thought she could make it out of the house with all my kitchen utensils & the vanilla extract unnoticed though! Crazy kid.
Went to the school this morning for the awards ceremony, Haley made it on the all ‘A Honor Roll’. She told me earlier this year when school ended for the Summer that she was going to try extra hard to get the all A’s Year Round Honor Roll for this school year lol. She’s got an awesome teacher and so far she’s doing great!
Going to paint and carve pumpkins tonight while we watch “It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!” and “The Nightmare Before Christmas”. Maybe I’ll make us some goodies to snack on or something. Popcorn for sure tonight.
Oh and I updated my Q*Bee pages, ttfn!Filed under Artistic scribbles, Family Files | Comments Off

So mid March marked the halfway point for hubby’s return from Afghanistan! Now the kids and I can start our own count down, we usually start by counting down in months and then when we reach 6 weeks we go by weeks and then 2 weeks we go down to days. I’m so ready for him to be home already though, this deployment seems harder than the last ones we’ve had for some reason. Wish I knew why, but I honestly have no clue. Hubby himself had a hard time with the deployment the first month and half, but now he seems more “comfortable” there… well as comfortable as you can be in the desert and sharing a room with 7 other guys.
This is my final week with INSANITY and I can actually feel proud of myself for seeing it all the way through and getting such awesome results from this workout. If you view my “fitness” page all the weight loss on my ticker is just from this round of INSANITY! I’m taking a recovery week next week and just doing core & balance videos as well as running that week. Then I start round 2 of INSANITY and I should be finished in time for hubby’s homecoming. Yes as you can see I am very gung ho about getting this weight off, but more importantly about getting fit and healthy. I’m trying to be a good role model for my children so they don’t get added to the obesity stats in the US, so practicing what I preach is big with me. Can’t really take someone seriously when they talk about health and fitness who is out of shape themselves right?
So excited I finally added some of my old graphics on here! I feel so out of practice with html though, so I’m considering taking an online course over the Summer if I can… guess we’ll see how busy things get once hubby returns. Also finally submitted my site for The Quilting Bee ! Gonna try and draw a couple new things this week or weekend, everything depends on if I have time and not stressed out lol.
Okay gotta go get this workout out of the way and do some *cringe* laundry…. yuck. TTFN!Filed under Artistic scribbles, Fit 2 B Me, Life in general, Military | Comments Off

… boy you gotta prove your love to me! Lol, sorry had to continue after I put that title up So I haven’t blogged a real “personal” entry in a while it seems. Trying to rectify that starting now. Things are good here aside from the deployment we’re going through right now. The kids are getting bigger it seems…. and by bigger I mean taller and older. They may not be older age wise, but their minds seem to want to grow up faster too. Haley’s 9yrs old and I swear she acts more like a 12 or 13yr old most days :/ Michael 6yrs old and well he’s still my baby and a mama’s boy… but when he’s with friends or his sisters friends he changes a little. Mommy does not approve of her babies growing up.
As for myself, I gave up my graphics a while back due to the increase in lineart and tubes taking over the graphics communities I was in, then there was the as is stuff that started popping up and the greed on the net killed the joy I got from creating my own graphics. I’ve started to really miss my drawing days. I’m more of a pixel artist now, but that doesn’t mean I don’t draw in other ways. So I’m probably gonna start doodling a little here and there and make a page or something here on my blog to share some of my stuff (old stuff/new stuff) with any of my visitors who still like to collect cutesy graphics like I do just for fun. Looking into The Quilting Bee to help motivate me and I can definitely thank my sis Mindy for that (constant) nudge lol.
Now as you’ve probably noticed (if you’ve been to my blog previously) I changed my theme here on my WordPress blog. I’m quite pleased with it because it’s reflecting on my new focus in life, getting healthier and fitter. This is not just for me, but for my family. I want to be able to live a long healthy life and do as much as I can with and for my family and be happy with myself as a whole. I’m currently doing the Beachbody INSANITY workout and I’m 2 weeks away from finishing the first round (which is 60 days). So many changes going on with my body and I’m loving it. The workout is a beast and I can get a bit vocal during the routines cuz it’s almost torturous at times lol. Gonna do a recovery week after I’m done and then start right back up again. I have time to do this before hubby comes home from Afghanistan plus it’ll be swimsuit season by the time he gets home and then our family trip to California to visit my family.
I plan to start looking for work and/or taking some college courses when the kids go back to school in August. I need to get out of the house, but there’s just no way I would’ve been able to find or keep a job with hubby on a deployment mission. The kids expressed how they felt and really made me think of the better decision for now. Family comes first.
I’m off to bed now, but please feel free to pop in for a visit every once in a while since I plan on updating this much more often now.
