The sickies…

October 22nd, 2007 by Del

Don’t know where it came from but it got Michael first and then me… Haley escaped this round of the sickies well enough (lucky gal). Not sure what it is I have, but it seems like a combination of a cold and the flu. I started to feel it a little on Thursday and then Friday called the clinic and tried to get an appointment scheduled for this week and lucked out with an appointment that same day, matter of fact that same morning, lol! So I got some cough medicine, the problem is I don’t even have a cough o.O! So I’ve just been taking Nyquil and Dayquil liquid caps since Saturday. We (my in law’s and I) managed to get Haley and Michael’s rooms painted all in one shot on Friday morning :D. So by the time we picked Haley up from school both rooms were done and back to normal again ;). I’ll have to take pics of the new colors in there, I like them :).

Saturday I did make it to the Race For The Cure, got up way earlier than I would’ve like, but all for a good cause right? ;) Finished in good time, although I think if I was feeling better than I was that day I would’ve probably wanted to jog a little… I’m a bit more of a jogger than a walker, but I do like walking too :D. All in all it was a good thing to do and it was a beautiful day as well, sunny and almost completely clear skies. Later that day (and after a good little 30 minute power nap) the IL’s and I took the kiddo’s to the pumpkin patch to pick out some pumpkins for them, they got to go on a hay ride (granted it was a trailer with hay and pulled by a john deere tractor, lol), and even see some farm animals :)).

Sunday morning my IL’s left and I spent the whole day in bed feeling like poo on a shoe, well except for having to get up and feed my kids when they needed it and change a diaper on a boy that is about to start potty training (help me please). Even by Sunday night I wasn’t feeling that much better, so this morning I had my friend Renee take Haley to school for me so I could sleep in a little especially since Michael got up and slept with me around 5am (ouch).

Well, I think I’ve caught up for now… gonna go wrestle some kids to bed since one has a field trip to go to tomorrow morning. TTFN and if anyone see’s my smoochums tell her I’m looking for her please, lol!!

Dear Family and Friends,

I recently accepted the challenge to raise funds to support the Komen Lowcountry Race for the Cure® on October 20, 2007 in the fight against breast cancer. One in eight women will be stricken with breast cancer in her lifetime and the more we raise, the more the Lowcountry Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure can give back to fund vital breast cancer education, screening and treatment programs in our own 12 county community and support the national foundations search for a cure.

Click here to visit my personal page and pledge your support.

Please join me in the fight by pledging in support of my participation in the Race or contributing generously to the Komen Lowcountry Race for the Cure®.
