Halfway through it…
November 27th, 2007 by Del
Sorry I haven’t been around to update lately. I meant to post a new entry last week before Thanksgiving, but I never got a chance to. We’re halfway through this deployment and looking forward to the New Year so that our countdown can really begin (sorry Smoochums, I’m thinking of you as I write this too
) for David’s return. So let me start with the beginning of November to catch you all up on what I’ve been up to…
As you all saw Halloween came and went and brought about November for us here in SC., I had a purse party I was hosting on the 9th and had to get ready for that by getting my house in order and get some munchies for my friends. That went over well and then I had Haley’s birthday party I had to get ready for on the 11th, now keep in mind I had no intention of making it a HUGE birthday party since my In Law’s were going to be throwing her one. I had intended for Haley to have a couple of friends over for pizza/cake/and ice cream…. how the heck I ended up with around 15 kids here is BEYOND ME!!!! I had a heck of a time keeping track of them all
!! I will say though, my baby girl called this one of the best birthday’s she’d ever had… minus her daddy whom she missed at the end of the day.
I also went out one night with some friends to help another friend celebrate her birthday, dinner was okay… it was just located a good distance away and then no one knew where this club was that they wanted to go to in downtown afterward so it was a little chaotic to say the least. Thankfully I didn’t have to drive considering I don’t do well driving in the dark (AT ALL!!!) and I didn’t have to pick my kids up that night from my friend’s house since they had crashed early and she told me to just leave them overnight. The next day I picked my kiddo’s up first thing in the morning and then went to Starbuck’s to meet up with my friend Kara and Felisha, more gals were supposed to be there but they all bailed on us that morning. So after our coffee session we all headed over to Target to see if we could get any good deals on things…. hmm, now that my memory is starting to kick in I think this was just before Haley’s birthday because I remember buying her a couple of gifts that day at Target, lol! I told some of you my memory was bad, rofl!
So then comes the 14th and I have Bunco at my house
. Fun was had by ALL in attendance!!! Too bad to the gals that missed it and to those few that forgot or didn’t have time to buy their gifts. I made BBQ pork and a chicken & cheese dip for the party and everyone else brought their own dishes in for the party… yumm-o! Anyhoo, that was a really fun night and I enjoyed the company of all the lovely ladies that I’ve met over the past few months playing and just meeting for coffee/goodies/and craft sessions (Kara).
The 16th came around and my In Law’s came to get us, we left Saturday morning and went up to Virginia for Thanksgiving week. Well, we got up there Saturday and Haley starts acting weird and not herself… she came down with a cold/flu type thing and we had to battle fevers for about 2-3 days and then a cough, so her birthday party on Sunday didn’t go over as great considering she was out of it. Then Wednesday comes around and guess who starts acting weird and not themselves? Michael came down with whatever the heck it was that his sister had, so we had to call David’s aunt and cancel our Thanksgiving dinner plans at her house since we didn’t want to get their cousins or the grandparents sick by bringing our germs over. So Thanksgiving came and we spent it at David’s parents house with the two sick kids, his parents, and his brother
It was nice actually to have a small family dinner… missed my hubby pretty bad though
.
Friday morning (Black Friday) David’s mom and I braved the cold 20+ degree weather and headed to Target first where I got Michael’s birthday present (which btw the wait in the ridiculous line lasted about 45 flippin’ minutes!!!). Afterwards we headed next door to Best Buy where we got a few gifts for family and afterwards we headed out to one of the malls. We got back home just after 11am (oh btw we left at 6am, lol). Oh boy did I get a nap in, I was BEAT! Saturday morning we finished packing and headed back home. It was good to come home, unfortunately Sunday morning guess who ended up sick… yup, I’m still sick *sighs*. So here I am, feeling like poo on a shoe and still trying to survive with an empty refrigerator since payday isn’t until Saturday (but I think our pay goes through on Friday).
I think Friday or Saturday (in the morning) I’m going to go out and get us a prelit Christmas tree from Lowe’s, I can’t get a real tree this year because I’m not gonna be around for 2 weeks and I know a lot of my friends are going to be out of town and won’t be around to water it. Oh and btw, the reason I’ll be busy Saturday is because…….
ACC CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!! #6 Virginia Tech vs #11 Boston College @ 1pm EST!!!! YEAH BABY!!! LOL!! This is what we’ve been waiting for man, we’re ranked #6 on the BCS standings and let me tell ya… we’ve been wanting this rematch, since we practically handed them their win against us on October 25th, man was I one steamed clam after that game! Anyhoo, I’ll be busy sitting or standing watching that game and yelling like a banshee (hmm… better remember to keep the windows shut, lol) Saturday afternoon
.
Well, it’s time for me to get supper for the kiddo’s and look for another med to help me breathe through my nostrils again, lol. TTFN and I hope to get another update soon… if not for sure a new theme for my blog… this is driving me batty now, lol!
