Sorry for slacking…

Last week was a bit hectic… to say the least. Haley started 1st grade on Tuesday and her first week went by very smoothly. The first day was a little so/so because there’s a kid in her class that I wasn’t fond to find out she was in the same class as my daughter since I remembered her very well from her Kindergarten class. Ugh, well the little girl is something else (I really have no words to really describe this kid), she pulled the seat out from under Haley just as she was getting ready to sit down… she got in trouble for it thankfully (and she’s also been getting in trouble for a bunch of other things already and it’s only the 2nd week). Then Haley was out at recess and some kid in another class was trying to boss her around and she’s not the type that says something right away, so when she told me about it that evening I had a mommy talk with her… 1. Don’t listen to boys, half the time if not more they’re usually wrong. 2. Don’t listen to boys in Kindergarten… hello you’re older than them in more than just age, lol. and 3. Don’t be afraid to go to the teacher on duty and let her know if someone is continuously bothering you. So then at the end of recess she had an accident… yes an accident as in she pee’d herself *sigh*… So I get a phone call from my friend who is a teacher there and who saw Haley as they were going back in from recess and she let me know what happened, so I go up there with a change of clothes and Haley told me what happened and starts crying, not so much because she’s embarrassed but because she thought I’d be mad at her. I told her it was an accident and that next time if the teacher asks if you need to use the bathroom to try and go even if she doesn’t really feel the urge to go.

So aside from the 1st day, the rest of the week went smoothly. This weekend was a bit hectic… well Saturday mainly. We had a birthday party to attend around 11:30am for our friends little boy who turned 1 and then we got home with 30 minutes for me to quickly put some makeup on and go to another party at 2pm and then after that I came home around 4 with enough time for me to shower/do my hair/makeup/and change before my 2 friends came over for me to do their makeup, lol. We were taking a friend of mine out for her birthday which was earlier that week. Hubby was kind enough to watch all the kids for us so we could go out and enjoy dinner and drinks (I know brave soul for watching 5 girls and 1 boy, lol).

Sunday was spent relaxing and just well bummin’ it :P Now I think I need to send Haley to bed earlier than usual since she’s getting up 30 minutes prior to her alarm going off in the mornings and for the last two mornings has had emotional breakdowns at the beginning of class. She’s not usually so weepy unless she’s not getting enough sleep or needs a nap and since this is at 7:30 in the morning it’s obviously not a need for a nap just yet, lol.

Michael is doing good, he’s just playing around the house with toys uninterrupted and occasionally he gets on the computer and plays a few of the educational games we have here. I asked him if he was ready for school yet and he said ‘no, next year’, lol. Which is good considering I can’t even enroll him until the Spring since he’s got a late birthday ;). I do need to go out and get the poor boy some new pants and shoes, both of them actually need new shoes… gah, I’ll be happy when their feet stop growing, lol!

As for moi ;) I’ve just been tinkering with graphics, whatever catches my muses attention and doing a lot of reading and re-reading it seems. I just can’t get enough of these Twilight books :D I do want to pick up Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice from the book store, it’s been a long time since I last read it and I wanted to get it before I go and buy the movie with Keira Knightley which I have already seen but want regardless, lol. I remember seeing the old version many moons ago when I was a teenager with Greer Garson and Laurence Olivier as the main characters… *sigh* I love romance, lol. I’m not that big on mushy girly movies though so don’t get that impression from me or you’ll be sadly disappointed :))!

Well, I guess I need to throw a load of clothes in the wash or some of us won’t have much to wear this week :P.

TTFN!

Guess who’s back…

…back again, lol. So we got back from Virginia Sunday night around 7ish, it was really weird to tell you the truth. The weather had been rainy all the way through South Carolina and when we got back into Charleston it was just a weird type of hazy look to the atmosphere… kept feeling like I needed to wipe my glasses :)).

Anyhoo, Virginia was good and I had a nice time visiting and whatnot, but I definitely think 2 weeks without my own car was too much, lol. Seriously, I felt like a caged cat by the time the first week was over… especially when there would be something I needed or wanted and I couldn’t just hop in the car with the kids and go get it. Nope, had to wait until my IL’s got home from work in the afternoon :-<. We did end up going to West Virginia to visit hubby’s Papaw and some of his aunts/uncles/and cousins while we were there. We even went to the WV State Fair, no offense but when you come from a state like California and have seen what a huge fair with everything’s got it’s a little bit of a let down to see a fair like the one in WV. It was still nice though so I’m not gonna complain.

Our new couches are due to be delivered sometime tomorrow, the furniture people are supposed to call and let me know a time today. I did manage to get all of Haley’s school supplies while in VA and last night she got to meet her new teacher and see where she’s going to be sitting in class :). She started school today and was quite excited and a little nervous at the same time, lol. Got a couple of pics of her in the class and with her teacher so I will probably put those up in the ‘pictures’ section of the site. If you need the password just leave a comment stating so… if you’re a frequent visitor or someone I know well enough then I’ll send it to you, if however you are a new visitor or a stranger to me still then I’m sorry but I probably won’t send you the password… no offense. Michael is still home for another year thanks to having a late birthday, but he seems quite well at the moment having the house all to himself, lol.

Now while I was in VA I picked up the book Twilight by Stephenie Meyer and holy fuzzy, but I had the hardest time putting that book down… I mean I was ENGROSSED in the whole story!! It’s almost an obsession at this point just ask Jo, rofl! So right after I finished the first book I went out and bought the 2nd one (New Moon) and oh man I freaking cried like a baby reading that book… I mean really, for a book to bring me to sob-like tears is saying something, lol. Sooo…. as soon as I finished that one I went out and got the 3rd and 4th book (Eclipse & Breaking Dawn), lol! I know patheticly obsessed =))! I can’t wait for the author to release Midnight Sun, but who knows when that’ll be… in the meantime I guess I’ll go read my books more than 2 times now, lol.

In other book/movie news, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (the movie) won’t be out in theaters until next Summer now… dang it and I REALLY was looking forward to seeing it, what a tease, lol! On the other hand Twilight the movie took the HP slot in the theater release date and will be out 3 weeks earlier than originally scheduled, so if I’m in California for Thanksgiving I know exactly who will be going with me to see it, lol!

Well, I guess I have a pile of laundry that needs to be taken care of along with cleaning and rearranging things in the livingroom for the furniture tomorrow. TTFN my sweet peep’s and I’ll be back soon hopefully, lol… if not throw me the life raft 8-}!!!
