Here, there, and inner turmoil…

September 21st, 2008 by Del

So first of all… THANKS A LOT MINDY!!! You’ve got me seriously hooked on Plurk, rofl!! I mean honestly ever since you sent me the link to the place I’ve been going back like I do with my addictions to Twilight Fanfics :))! For those who don’t know what Plurk is, here’s the link to my Plurk and it’s like Twitter only FAR FAR better in my opinion ;).

So aside from Plurk, lol… I’ve just been hanging around mindlessly surfing the web and Fanfic sites just to occupy my time and boredom in between household stuff. I know I really should try and update my bloggy more than once a week and believe it or not but I do feel guilty when a week or almost a week goes by and I haven’t updated *hangs head*. So I’m gonna try VERY hard to update more than just once a week, even if it’s just piddly stuff, lol.

I will say this right now, if you come by and see a “private post”… unless I’ve known you for a very long time don’t expect me to share the password to that post because there is something I need to get off my chest and need to write about because holding it in is going to start affecting me and I’m the type of person who “feels” everything. I’m very in touch with my emotions and with those around me… even if I don’t know the person I can read their emotions by the way they act and the way they talk… so like I said it’s a personal thing and only very close friends who ask for the password to read it will get a reply with it. Thanks for understanding and hopefully no one gets their feelings hurt by my not sharing.

Here’s my Friday Meme that I forgot to blog, lol! Sorry Kiki!

Friday Fun: The Blog Edition

1. What different blog formats have you used (i.e. Blogger, LiveJournal, WordPress, your own HTML, etc.? Which did you like the best?
I’ve used all of the above, lol. I use my WordPress mainly and with the help of plugin’s I can still keep my LiveJournal to where it crossposts my entries. My own HTML was too high maintenance and not enough fun stuff to keep me interested in blogging that way. Blogger, I think it just wasn’t “cool enough” for me after a while, lol. I just really find it very easy and handy to just use WordPress and I don’t see myself giving it up anytime soon :P
2. How did you get into blogging? How long have you had a blog?
I honestly don’t remember how I really got into it, but I’ve been doing it for over 6 years now.
3. Why do you blog?
To ease the boredom, to get my thoughts out in the open, to express myself on different levels… there’s a lot of reason I blog :)
4. Do you have theme blog (i.e. crafting, cooking, deployment, pregnancy, etc.) or is it all in one?
Mine is all in one, my blog theme I guess you could say is just “Life”, lol.
5. Do you let it all hang out on your blog, or do you keep it light?
Hmmm, for the most part I keep it light… if there’s a seriousness I need to blog about like personal issues between my hubby and I or something that I just don’t want everyone and their mother to read I’ll make it a private post just to get if “off my chest” so to speak.
6. What is your favorite thing about your blog? What has it given you?
The ability to write whatever the hell I want when I want and to even write and keep things hidden from the “nosey/prying” eyes of people who need not read, lol. Freedom from my own mind.

TTFN :D

Slacker…

September 13th, 2008 by Del

Sorry for seriously slacking off on updating here. As you probably know we fared well during the tropical storm, thankfully it didn’t really affect us too much since it kept changing its course. We’re all doing okay here :).

I got a letter from the school about a month ago (like the 2nd week or so of the school year) tell the parents that some of the 1st grade classes were overcrowded and needed to be restructured to fit the kids equally and balanced. Well yesterday as we were leaving Haley’s teacher ran up to catch up to me before we left and handed me a letter and proceeded to explain to me that she (Haley) was one of the kids getting moved into another class. The teacher was upset about it because Haley is one of her favorite top students and is gonna miss having her in the class, but she was being moved because she’s one of the higher advanced students in that particular class and they didn’t want to impede her education further by denying her equal time with the teacher. So basically there are like 9 or 10 kids in the class who are in DIRE need of extra attention (ie. the BAD and slow kids (no offense to anyone out there just explaining it the way it was all explained to me)), so they kept some of the higher leveled kids in the class to balance it out a bit, but the top 3 kids in the class were being moved to another class that would better accommodate their learning experience (I hope that came out right). So starting Monday my little girl starts in yet ANOTHER class, lol. She’s pretty excited though since she got to meet the teacher this afternoon and knows a couple of the students from last years Kindergarten class. I should be expecting a conference or meeting with the teacher soon so that I can be “informed” about the class rules/regs/and all that other stuff I learned the first day, lol.

I went to the doctor this afternoon with Michael (no he’s not sick, lol) to get my throat checked on. No idea what’s up with it, but after my “check” the doctor said he’s almost positive I’ve got some sort of viral thing going on and since my upper glands (hey I’m not a doctor I’m just throwing words out there that I heard :)). ) were all swollen that it was an indication that my body is trying to fight it off and that my throat is where the “infection/disease/whatever” is stuck at, lol. So I got prescribed a few things for it and anxiously await being able to take them, lol! I’ve had this cruddy sore throat and gunk in the back of it since Sunday and it’s driven me bananas and affected my workout yesterday since I kept gagging on myself, rofl. BUT, I’m no quitter so I trudged through my workout this week because even though my throat hurt like a mother… my legs and the rest of my body were fine ;).

Well I gotta get started on washing the car and finishing up on laundry from yesterday. Jen if you’re reading this, please stay safe sweetie since I know Hurricane Ike hit your state hun. Be careful and I’m thinking of ya!

Friday Fun: This or That

1. You are in an adventurous mood. Do you go deep sea diving or sky diving? Any idea where you would like to do it?
I’d have to say sky diving… I’m more scared of sharks and other types of animals eating me once I hit the water than I am about my fear of heights, lol! I have no clue where… somewhere with a beautiful scenery so if something goes wrong at least I’m surrounded by something pleasant, lol.
2. You just won an all expenses paid trip to anywhere in the world. Do you go to Japan or to France? Why?
Hmmm…. geez, I want to see both honestly! I guess I’d say France since that’s where my ancestry leads back to.
3. You meet a stingy genie that will only grant one wish. Do you wish for more money or a better body? Why?
I know it’d probably be better to wish for more money, but I’m stuck with the saying that ‘money is the route of all evil’ so I guess I’d choose a better body, lol. BUT, even then anyone can achieve a better body if they just work at it hard and with dedication.
4. You have $50 burning a hole in your pocket. Do you head to the book store or to a spa? What would you get?
Oh man… I’d go with the bookstore (and yeah I had to think about this, lol) because the books will last far longer than a pedi/mani/massage will. I’d get some classic books that I remember reading as a child and in school.
5. It is time for a caffeine jolt. Do you go for the coffee pot or for the soda? Any favorites?
I go for the coffee, it’s healthier for you in all honesty. No favorites as long as there’s creme and sugar ;).
