Ouchies…

Okay well first of all let’s see how well this post shows… Just downloaded a WordPress Application for my BlackBerry since I can’t get to my computer and sit long enough to blog.

Let me start with last Friday…
Started off the day by keeping Haley home from school because of a small fever that morning and some sniffles, I woke up with a sore throat (not a bad one, but an annoying one) and nothing else. I was fine all day and even night long, then Saturday rolled around. Woke up with an EXTREMELY sore throat, very sore body, and the beginnings of a fever :( So all day Saturday I literally spent in bed and on occasion the bathroom emptying the water I kept consuming trying to keep the fever and possible dehydration at bay. Between Nyquil & Motrin to try and help me feel normal NEITHER was really helping :/ Haley is feeling well at this point btw.

Sunday rolls around and STILL I feel like utter and complete sh*t :( So by Sunday afternoon after talking with the hubby I make the executive decision that I need to see a doctor. By this point I’m almost positive I’ve got the Flu. So after waiting in the wonderful Med Care Express lobby for a long @ss time I get taken to the back and get swabbed for the Flu and Strep (I did apologize to the poor gal who swabbed my throat for gagging and coughing in her face). The doctor comes in to just go over what I’m feeling (blah blah blah) and tells me everyone is coming in with the same symptoms, but I’m the first one to complain of muscle aches… He leaves and returns like 5 minutes later with a positive Flu result (Yay me *rolls eyes*). He goes out to write some stuff out for me and comes back 2 minutes later to tell me my Strep test came back positive too… AND the @sshat is laughing the whole time!!! Glad to have made his day with my double whammy *ugh*.

So I start my meds that night and still experiencing soreness. Monday morning my back is absolutely KILLING me! I can’t even shift my position in bed without experiencing all sorts of pain in my back :( I got up at one point that day to get myself something to eat for once and when I went to stretch to open something the pain shot right down my back down to my ankles and about lost my balance. I broke down in tears because the pain in my back was so excruciating. Hubby had to get my food for me while I tried to crawl my way back to bed all the while crying from the pain in my back and numbness in my legs. So Tuesday comes around (feeling the meds working to get the Flu & Strep out of my system) and my back is still all kinds of f’d up, so hubby calls and gets me an appt to get seen that morning. We (the doctor & I) think it’s a muscle spasm right now, but if it doesn’t start working itself out with rest and pain meds I need to go back and probably have an xray or mri done because it could be a “slipped disc(k)” possibly.

So here I am able to move around in short spurts, but barely able to actually sit up for more than 5 minutes (any longer and I start squirming around in pain looking like I REALLY need to use the potty).

Well that was MY lovely Labor Day weekend and my poor hubby didn’t get much of a celebration for his birthday yesterday. Will have to make it up to him when I can move normally again. Well, gonna go try and feed my kid and then lay down again. Ttfn :)

So I see (and feel) that it’s still Summer… *sigh* Have I mentioned that I’m ready for this stupid heat to go away now? I do have this much to say though, I see and feel a change coming :D I’m like practically bouncing in my seat here, lol! FOOTBALL SEASON!!!! NOTHING gets my excitement going like football season, lol! We might even invite some friends over to watch the games with us :P. Oooh also, I really do think the weather is ready for a change as well btw. Haley left to wait for the school bus and then came back home to grab a sweater… apparently it’s chilly enough for her this morning, lol. I LOVE IT! I want to bust out my hoodies!!! From the looks of it we’re gonna be staying in the low-mid 80′s the rest of this week & weekend and our low’s are going to be staying in the 60′s.

Oh and for my Twi-Hard friends out there (you know who you be, lol) you can sign up at Fandango to be notified when showtime tickets will become available at a theater near you. I already told hubby I’m “on alert”, lol! I have plans on seeing the midnight showing and already have 3 of my friends who want to go with me :D The more the merrier!

Wanting to go see my family this Winter, but we have to see if David can get off either for Thanksgiving or for Christmas. It’ll be 2 years since I’ve last seen anyone in my family come December :( and David hasn’t been back to visit for 5 years now. I want ALL of us to go as a family this time and that’s the end of that rant. I’ll keep you posted on future developments.

Haley’s doing very week in her new school, she’s adjusted really really well and has made quite a few friends both there and in our new neighborhood. We’ve got Open House tomorrow to go to, maybe I’ll remember to take my camera with me this time around, lol.

Michael’s doing pretty good here at home with me, we go over some workbooks together so he won’t be too far behind when he goes into Kindergarten next year. Plus his sister is always wanting to show him what she’s learning (she likes to play teacher and mommy with kids younger than her). So all and all we’re doing alright over here.

Well, got some stuff to do around the house and whatnot so hopefully I’ll post something else by the end of this week. It’s my mission to at least post once a week… here’s hoping I can keep to that task, lol!
